Ada Feed & Seed, Inc., located in the heart of the Red River Valley at Ada, Minnesota,

provides the highest quality seed, fertilizer and chemical to area growers.  In turn,

we purchase our seed directly from local growers and process it here at our facility.

When growers are successful, we are successful.

Grant Wagner represents the third generation of the family at Ada Feed & Seed, Inc.

Grant has over 30 years of experience in the business.

Ada Feed & Seed, Inc. is proud of our long history of services by providing a professional,

Ada Feed & Seed started in 1930 as a partnership between David Johnson

and Emil Wagner.  Located at the former Northwestern Hotel, the business

sold seed, flour and feed.  Workers mixed feed with a scoop shovel in a

second floor room.

In the mid-30's, Ada Feed & Seed introduced the J.I. Case machinery line and

purchased one of the first hatcheries in the Northwest.

Construction of a new feed and certified seed cleaning plant was completed in 1944.

A grain elevator and office were added to make it one of the most modern plants in

Northern Minnesota.

In 1947, Ada Feed & Seed introduced the Kaiser Frazier line of automobiles to

Norman County.

A feed pellet plant and roller mill were added in 1956.  A complete line of feed

under our own "Full-O-Life" label was made and sold.

Sunflowers were introduced to the area in the 1960's.  Ada Feed & Seed led

the way for local growers with one of the first major export contracts for shipment

of oil seed to Japan.  Equipment was installed for complete processing of edible

confection sunflowers and oil seed for the bird food market.

Growth continued with the construction of a bulk fertilizer plant in 1967.

Ada Feed & Seed pioneered the liquid fertilizer business in the area, having

the first car of Uran 28% liquid nitrogen shipped to the State.

In April of 1974, fire destroyed the feed plant, elevator, warehouse and office.

The rebuilding process began, with construction on the new facility completed in 1978.
